![]() Schmidt-Biggemann's introductory essay places Andreae within the context of the Holy Roman Empire in the Thirty Years' War and his struggles to maintain his Lutheran identity. To these may now be added a volume with Andreae's fictional utopia Christianopolis (1619) and his allegorical poem "Christenburg."
